A4 / Application

Manufacturing & line supply

Production lines, work-in-progress buffers, mixed load types

The recurring problem

Material handling has to match takt time and line-side space, and awkward or non-palletised loads are the norm rather than the exception.

Selection factors

What we work through with you

01

Line-side space governs

Available space at the point of use often decides the handling method, working backwards to storage and transport rather than forwards from the store.

02

Non-standard loads

Coils, drums, reels, frames and fixtures usually need purpose-selected attachments or lifting aids, specified against the actual load, not a category assumption.

03

Tow tractors versus repeat truck moves

Where the same route runs many times a shift, tugger routes can replace repeated truck movements. This is an analysis, not a preference.

04

Downtime cost sets the service plan

The cost of a stopped line, not the cost of the truck, should determine maintenance intervals and critical spares held.
